Ceiling Fan to Wind Generator Conversion Demo
Converting ceiling motor to wind generator is not difficult as many people think. The first thing that you need to do is to remove all screw on the ceiling motor plus all electrical components. You also have to remove the outer casing of the motor so as to remain with the motor.
The motor has different set of coils i.e. one set, two sets and on with little set. The more coils the set has, the faster the motor will move. The alternating current within the coil actually makes the motor to rotate. You also have to get rid of the rotor and replace it with magnets. The motor will actually work as the generator.
When you rotate the magnet around the coil, alternating current will be produced. If you use an LED light, you will notice it will actually produce some light but the brightness will depend on rotation speed. You need to add a rectifying diode to smoothen out the flicker. A capacitor will also help to hold the voltage for long period. You can do this process with other motors like regular induction motor but the motor used above is the most recommended because it is a lower PM motor meaning that it does not have to spin so fast to produce voltage.
